Tips for Users in India
- 💡TikTok has been blocked in India since June 2020 under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, and the block is applied by internet providers rather than by TikTok itself. Public post URLs still resolve from outside that network, which is why a save can go through on a connection that cannot open tiktok.com at all.
- 💡Savett has no Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali or Marathi interface. The English pages at savett.co are what is available here, and scrolling the locale list will not turn up a closer fit.
- 💡With the app blocked, most links arrive second hand through WhatsApp or Telegram or lifted from a reupload. The form accepts the short vt.tiktok.com form and the long www.tiktok.com/@name/video/ form, but a URL someone has put through a second shortener has to be opened once so the real address can be copied.
- 💡Posts deleted or geo-restricted since the ban come back with nothing. That is the post being gone rather than the save failing, and retrying does not recover it.
- 💡Android phones, Windows laptops and Chromebooks all go through the same web page, so none of this is device specific. On a Chromebook the MP4 lands in the Downloads folder of the Files app rather than in Drive, which catches people out the first time.
- 💡Savett needs a URL that resolves from wherever the request leaves. It cannot guess a link, reconstruct a removed post, or reach something a network refuses to open, and no amount of retrying changes any of the three.
- 💡MP3 lives only on /tools/mp3-converter and only works where TikTok still exposes a music URL for the post. Original-sound clips and voiceovers frequently do not have one, and the tool says so rather than handing back a silent file.
- 💡The profile viewer, the followers counter and the hashtag pages read public TikTok data and never ask for a login. They are research surfaces rather than a route back into a blocked app.

The main form returns MP4 in whatever resolution TikTok published for that post. There is no format or quality menu, and nothing is re-encoded, so the file you get in India is the same one anyone else gets.
