Download TikTok Videos on Windows
Complete guide for Windows users - Step-by-step instructions to download TikTok videos on your desktop
How to Download TikTok Videos on Windows
Step 1
Open the post on tiktok.com in Chrome, Edge or Firefox and copy the address from the address bar, or use the Share button next to the video and choose Copy link.
Step 2
Skip the browser's right-click menu on the video itself. Copy video address hands you a temporary media link from TikTok's servers rather than the post, and that is not what Savett needs.
Step 3
Open savett.co, click the link field, press Ctrl+V and submit. The preview that loads is the post Savett resolved, so a mistyped or truncated link shows up immediately.
Step 4
Click Download. The MP4 goes to C:\Users\<your name>\Downloads unless the browser is set otherwise, and Ctrl+J opens the downloads list in Chrome, Edge and Firefox alike.
Pro Tips
- 💡Edge and Chrome can both be told to ask where to save every file, under Settings > Downloads > Ask me what to do with each download. Worth turning on before a long session of saving clips.
- 💡The Windows Photos app does not watch the Downloads folder. Add that folder to the app's own folder list if you want saved clips showing up next to your pictures.
- 💡An H.264 MP4 plays in Media Player on Windows 10 and 11 with nothing extra installed, so a saved clip needs no codec pack and no second player.
- 💡Photo posts download as savett.co-photos.zip, and File Explorer opens and extracts it on its own without a third-party archiver.
- 💡Both the preview and the saved file are fetched by Savett's server rather than by your PC, so the download does not depend on your machine reaching TikTok directly.
- 💡The absence of a watermark makes it easy to forget whose clip it is. Treat a file saved on a work PC the same way you would treat any other licensed material.
