A Live Stream Is Gone When It Ends
A TikTok live broadcast is not kept anywhere you can reach once it finishes. Unless the host saves and re-posts it, the stream, the questions people asked in the chat and the answers they got all end with the broadcast.
Recording it yourself means sitting at the machine for the whole thing with screen capture running, hoping nothing sleeps, nothing rings and the tab survives. A two-hour broadcast is two hours of a device you cannot use for anything else.
Record a TikTok Live While It Is On Air
Enter the host's username and the page checks whether that account is broadcasting at that moment. If it is, a recording job starts on our server and the page shows a preview of the stream with the chat scrolling beside it.
The capture runs server-side, so closing the tab, locking the phone or losing wifi does not stop it, and the page says exactly that when the preview drops out. Press Stop when you have enough and the finished file appears with its duration and size and a download button.
Why a Server-Side Capture Is Easier
Your device takes no part in the capture, so battery, storage and bandwidth stay yours, and a notification or a screen lock cannot spoil the result. You can start a recording on a phone and collect the file later on a laptop.
The chat is captured with the video and composited into the saved file as a panel beside the picture, so the conversation stays matched to the moment it happened. The chat log can also be downloaded on its own when the text is what you are after.
What the Live Recorder Gives You
A liveness check comes first, so you are told plainly that an account is not live instead of starting a job that captures nothing. While it runs, the preview player and the chat feed show what is being recorded, and either can drop out without affecting the capture.
Up to three recordings can run at once from one connection. A finished recording stays downloadable for an hour and then expires, and the page shows that expiry time next to the file, so collecting it is something to do while you are still there.
When a Live Broadcast Needs Keeping
A viewer keeps the stream where a release date was announced, with the chat's reaction to it intact. A team records the live their own host ran, because the platform keeps nothing for them either.
Researchers and moderators capture a broadcast they will later need to quote accurately. Fans in another time zone catch a stream that began while they were asleep, by starting a recording the moment they wake and find it still running.
Live Capture Against Single-Link Tools
None of the downloaders compared on this site records a live stream. TikSave, SnapTik, SSSTik, MusicallyDown and Tikmate all work from a finished post's link, which a broadcast in progress does not have, and their own feature lists describe exactly that scope.
This is the clearest case of this site doing something those tools do not, and it arrives with its own limits: no quality setting, one hour to collect the file, and nothing whatsoever for a stream that has already ended. For finished posts they cover the same ground as this site's video downloader, with the difference that these pages load no advertising.
How the Recording Job Runs
The username is checked against TikTok for a live stream URL. If one comes back, a row is created and a job is queued in BullMQ on Redis; a worker records the stream with yt-dlp straight to a file on the server, while a separate connection collects the chat messages with their timestamps.
When you stop it, ffmpeg composites the capture with the chat rendered as a panel beside the video and writes the final MP4. If that step fails the raw recording is kept, so there is still a file to download. Duration and size are updated as the job runs, and the file is removed once its hour is up.
Catching a Live Stream Cleanly
Start the recording as soon as you find the stream, because nothing from before that point can be recovered. The field wants the host's username, with or without the @, rather than a link to the broadcast.
Press Stop yourself once you have what you need rather than waiting for the host to end the broadcast, since a stream that cuts out on its own can leave the job marked as failed. Then collect the MP4, and the chat log if you want it, before the hour runs out: expired recordings are deleted and cannot be brought back.

Pertanyaan yang Sering Diajukan
Bisakah saya mengunduh setelah siaran berakhir?
No, you must record while the stream is live. TikTok does not save live streams permanently.
What tools can I use to record?
You do not need any other tool. The recording runs as a job on our server, so nothing is installed on your device and the capture continues after you close the tab.
Is it legal to record live streams?
Recording for personal use is generally allowed, but sharing or redistributing may violate terms of service.
