TikTok 720p Download — No Size Option Here

People search for 720p when they want a smaller file. There is no size option here, so this page is about what to do with that.

What resolution you actually get

Savett hands over one rendition, the one TikTok stores, with no re-encode and no resolution list. So if a post was published at around 1080p and you need something lighter for a slide deck, an email or a phone with little space left, the reduction happens after the download in a tool of your choosing, not here. The reason for that order is quality: every re-encode throws away data, and doing it once at the end, with your own target in mind, costs less than having a site do it blind on the way through. Some posts do come back at around 720p already, usually because that is what the creator uploaded or what TikTok's compression produced for that clip.

TikTok re-encodes every upload on its own side and keeps a small number of renditions per post. Savett reads the media URLs TikTok publishes and hands over the best one it exposes, which for a current vertical video is typically an H.264 MP4 around 720p or 1080p. Older or heavily compressed posts can be lower. No downloader can add detail that the stored file does not contain, so a tool advertising an upscale is re-encoding a smaller picture into a bigger container and charging you the file size for it.

It is worth knowing what the quality labels in the TikTok interface refer to. A post shown as HD in the app is the same stored rendition, selected by the player when the connection allows it, not a separate higher-resolution master. Vertical video at 1080 by 1920 is the common shape for a recent upload, and a clip filmed on an older phone or exported from an editor at a lower setting stays at that lower setting after the round trip through the TikTok encoder.

What this means for the file

No second lossy pass

Nothing is transcoded, so no extra generation of compression artefacts is stacked on top of the encode TikTok already applied.

Frame rate and audio untouched

The muxed audio track and the frame rate come across as stored, which is what matters when a clip is going into an edit.

No overlay across the picture

The rendition handed over is the one without the moving username and logo, so the frame is not covered in the corners.

No silent downgrade

Savett does not offer resolution options a post does not have, so a request cannot quietly fall back to a smaller file than the one TikTok serves.

Check the quality of a download

  1. 1

    Paste the post link

Submit the link in the form above and let Savett resolve the post.

  2. 2

    Read the result card

The card shows the post and the media Savett found for it.

  3. 3

    Inspect the saved file

Any player, or the file inspector in your operating system, will report the real width, height, duration and bitrate of what arrived.

What is not available

There is no 4K download. The renditions TikTok stores for normal posts do not go there, and resolution that is not in the source cannot be created afterwards. Around 1080p is the realistic ceiling on current uploads and lower is common on older ones. There is no bitrate, codec or container choice either, because the file is passed through rather than converted.

FAQ

Can I ask for the 720p version of a post?

No. One rendition is published per post. If it is larger than that, shrinking it is a step you take after saving, in an editor or a converter.

Why does a download sometimes arrive at around 720p?

Because that is what TikTok stored for it, usually following the uploaded file. Nothing is downgraded on this side.

Can I download a TikTok in 4K?

No. Savett hands over the rendition TikTok serves and those are not 4K files for normal posts. A tool offering 4K is upscaling a smaller picture, which adds file size without adding detail.

Why is there no quality selector?

Because there is nothing to select between. Savett does not transcode, so the only file available for a post is the one the platform stores.

Will the download look worse than the app?

It should look the same. The app plays the same rendition; the saved copy simply has no overlay watermark across it.

Is 1080p guaranteed?

No. Resolution depends on what the uploader submitted and how TikTok encoded it. Some posts come down at 720p or lower, and that is the source rather than the download.

How can I tell what resolution I got?

Open the file properties on a desktop, or the info panel of any player, and read the width and height. That is the only reliable answer, because the figure a download page advertises is not necessarily what the file contains.
